Income qualified clients (low to moderate incomes) with very good credit history can qualify for a USDA/Rural Development 33-year low interest mortgage to construct a new energy efficient single family home through Deep Fork Community Action Foundation‘s Mutual Self-Help Housing program. The client pays their down payment costs through sweat equity by helping to construct the house and the houses of others in their construction group, under supervision. Th e self-help housing program generally builds single story brick ranch houses of about 1400 square feet, with three bed rooms, one to two baths, and a one or two car garage.
